SPOON

Hailing from Austin, TX, Spoon originated in 1994 as a collaboration between Britt Daniel (vocals, electric guitar, piano, Fender Rhodes piano, Moog synthesizer, bass instrument); Jim Eno (drums) and a rotating cast of supporting players. Spoon are purveyors of a stylish brand of indie rock bearing equal doses of sexy attitude and immediately accessible song craft, their hybrid of indie and punk resulted in a number of Sonic Youth and Pixies comparisons. Released in 2005 Gimme Fiction has a fair bit in common with 2002´s Kill The Moonlight , synthesizing influences that include everyone from the Beatles to Pavement into an appealing, darker sound.
