Arular Released in 2005 "Arular" is M.I.A. debut record, is both intensely urban and aggressively modern with great atmospherere. Maya Arulpragasam moved from London, England, to her parents´ native Sri Lanka at the age of six months, only to relocate to Madras, India. During a return stay in Sri Lanka, the civil war taking place within the country escalated to the point where Arulpragasam began to lose family members and friends. Back to London she starts her career, in 2004 released The EP "Garland", and now she achieve her first record. Maya infuses her blend of hip-hop and chunky electro with raw, tribal overtones, in a great songs like "Banana Skit", "Bucky Done Gun", "Amazon", "Sunshowers". Great Album!
